Fayose Celebrates the Loss of Governor’s Candidate Aminu Tambuwal in the Sokoto Elections (Video)
Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose celebrates the loss of Governor’s candidate Aminu Tambuwal in the Sokoto elections.
Fayose, in a short video he shared, claimed that Tambuwal is “treacherous”.
Armaya’u Hamisu, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer for the Sokoto Governorate election announced the result on Sunday evening March 19.
Aliyu garnered 453,661 votes to defeat his nearest rival, Saidu Umar of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 404,632 votes.
Mr Aliyu, an ally of a former Sokoto state governor and sitting senator, Aliyu Wamakko, served as Deputy Governor Aminu Tambuwal during his first term between 2015 and 2019.
In 2019, he challenged PDP member Mr Tambuwal and lost by a narrow margin of 342 votes after another run.
