Father-of-two tells how phone thieves cut off his hand in Kaduna
A father-of-two, Abubakar Saeed, has told how phone thieves cut off his hand in Kaduna state.
LIB earlier reported that Saeed, a jewelry salesman, was offensive as he sat outside his family’s residence on Musa Danbade Street in Rigasa, Igabi LGA last month.
Speaking to the Daily Trust, Saeed said he was inside the room with his wife and children when the electricity went out and he decided to go out to buy a mosquito coil. Later, he sat outside the house to browse Eid al-Fitr posts on his Facebook page.
“I sat there responding to comments made on my Facebook post when someone hit me on the hand. I thought it was a stick, so I ran into the compound, only to realize that my hand had been cut off. I called my mother to tell her that my hand had been cut off by thieves,” he said.
He said he could not imagine what happened to him because his body was covered in blood before he was rushed to a private hospital from where he was transferred to 44 Army Hospital.
It has been established that Saeed’s attackers were teenagers in their mid-20s who lived not too far from his street but have been on the loose since the incident.
He said he never met his attackers even though they lived in the same community.
Phone kidnapping has become a growing concern in the metropolis, with many residents falling victim to this crime in recent months.
