EFCC arrests suspected serial visa fraudster who specializes in deceiving Nigerians seeking to emigrate to Canada

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a certain Enock Ifeoluwa Ogungbamigbe, an alleged serial visa scammer who specializes in deceiving Nigerians desperate to emigrate to Canada for work or further education, through fake visas and job offers.

The 32-year-old man, a garden owner in Mpape, a suburb of Abuja, was picked up on Friday March 17, 2023 from the Transcorp Hotel in Abuja by EFCC officers when he responded to an appointment to obtain a visa for an applicant. intending to migrate to Canada. Unknown to him it was bait.

His arrest follows a request from a victim who lost 5 million naira to the suspect in processing fees for a visa to Canada.

The suspect had also promised the victim a job when he arrived in Canada. But he allegedly issued only false visas to the victims and all efforts to recover the money were in vain.

The suspect would be brought to justice as soon as the investigation is completed.
