Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister Katia Aveiro has slammed the Manchester United star’s ‘weak’ reviews following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

The Portuguese star has sparked controversy after claiming he felt “betrayed” by United, while revealing he didn’t respect manager Erik ten Hag.

The 37-year-old also took aim at the club’s owners, the Glazer family, Gary Neville, former team-mate Wayne Rooney and former caretaker boss Ralf Rangnick in the wide-ranging interview.

United are now considering sacking Ronaldo over a possible breach of contract following the meeting with Morgan, and Ten Hag has reportedly told club bosses the Portuguese striker should never play for the club again.

As Ronaldo came under heavy criticism for the interview, his sister launched an impassioned defense of her brother on social media.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Katia insisted her brother had nothing to prove and could

“scratching his balls” for the rest of his career and still having “built a legacy for future generations that no one can take away from you”.

“I am happy that your character and your dignity do not leave you,” Aveiro wrote.

“I feel sorry for people who live with their chins pointed like they’ve built more than you.

“There are people who are like that: weak, fake (I don’t even know if that word exists) but that doesn’t worry me at all.

“Nowadays seeing someone take a stand, be brave, be safe is criticized, people are drowning in their own delusion, many of them live to see others walk, even the ground itself is scared to walk, because they are afraid of falling, the poor things.

‘Nowadays it’s hard to find people like that, you had everything to shut up. You no longer need to prove anything, you have built an empire from nothing, you already have a legacy for future generations that no one can take away from you.

“You could scratch your balls (yes I’m saying it anyway) and whistle to the side, ride your private jet wherever you want, you could take a ride in your 27 meter long boat and enjoy the days in the sun in the country you want.’

Aveiro then praised Ronaldo’s achievements and for ‘never deviating’ from his path during his successful career.

“All you have (conquered with a lot of sweat) is a lot and it’s yours alone…”, she added.

‘You could and you can do whatever you want, but again you decide to be different and brave like few cowards are, to be an example of a man is to fight without fear of stains that easily fade from the horizon, to be a man is not to give up on your ideals, to be a man is to show the truth is to face the sharks and keep swimming, (your children will be so proud of you), your end hasn’t come yet, but these last few years are exactly the same as the beginning…remember?

“Where they said, he won’t go anywhere, he will be nothing in life, he speaks badly, he is weak, a family of fragile and aimless people.

“Only those who know where they come from know where they are going, and you, my brother, you know what you are made of. Congratulations on never going out of your way, it was always you, and it will always be just you.

‘No problem. You can handle it, you are unique, you are special. I’m so proud. Thanks dude.
