Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister Katia Aveiro accuses Portuguese fans of being ‘sick, soulless and forever ungrateful’ following criticism from her brother
Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister Katia Aveiro has accused Portuguese fans of being “forever ungrateful” following criticism of her brother’s performances.
The Manchester United forward struggled on Tuesday night (September 27) as he missed a few key chances in Portugal’s 1-0 loss to Spain which saw his side miss out on the Nations League semi-finals .
Fans denounced Ronaldo’s display on social media, with some calling for him to retire while others wondered if he should make the squad for the 2022 world club, but Aveiro took defending his brother.
Taking to Instagram, Aveiro admitted Ronaldo was going through a tough time in his career but slammed fans for not helping him when he struggled.
“He has his family and those who love him by his side. They will always be by his side no matter what,” Aveiro wrote of his brother on Instagram.
‘But the current times don’t surprise me at all. The Portuguese spit in the plate they eat [from]It has always been like this.
‘That’s why when someone rises from the ashes and changes mentalities, it’s disturbing… With you always, my king. Calm.’
“You have to give a helping hand to those who have always given their hand in Portugal.
“But the Portuguese are sick, petty, soulless, stupid, ungrateful and forever ungrateful. This guy who’s sitting, he’s on his knees… There’s no one to give him a hand.”
Katia added: “It’s cruel. And it was already so much, but so much that he gave and gave. The one sitting there is called Cristiano Ronaldo and he’s simply the best player in the world.”
