Court remands man for stabbing his mother during heated argument in Adamawa

A high court sitting in Yola, Adamawa State, has ordered the remand in custody of a 22-year-old man for stabbing his mother.

The accused, Ibrahim Umar of Michika Local Government Area in northern Adamawa, stabbed his mother, Hajiya Lami Mallum, with a knife in the face during a heated argument that escalated into a scuffle on September 12 2022.

The victim who was rushed to Michika General Hospital is still being admitted for treatment.

The accused was brought before Chief Magistrate Buba on Monday, September 19, by Inspector SSNicholas

He pleaded guilty to the charge against him as contained in the first information report (FIR) read to him.

The court presided over by Mohammed Buba, ordered the dismissal of the defendant and adjourned the case to October 18, 2022.
