Court nullifies Taraba APC gubernatorial primary
The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election that made Senator Emmanuel Bwacha the party’s flag bearer in Taraba State for next year’s general elections, has been canceled by a High Federal Court sitting in Abuja.
Senator representing Taraba Central, Yusuf A. Yusuf, in the lawsuit he filed, said the party’s gubernatorial primary was not held in the state.
Ruling on the case, the court asked the APC leadership to hold a new governor’s primary in Taraba.
Bwacha was also asked to refrain from running as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for Taraba.
Reacting to the court ruling, APC in-state spokesman and Bwacha media and publicity campaign manager Aaron Artimas said plans to appeal the ruling were in the works. .
