Collaborates with fans to produce a 105-foot, 2-inch-long braid
In what started out as an ordinary concept, initially activated in Big Brother’s house, quickly made its way to the feat unimaginable in history. Lush Hair and the collective efforts of interested fans teamed up to produce the longest braid of 105 feet 2 inches on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Ikeja City Mall.
A record of 36 feet long was officially set in the Big Brother house days earlier during the Lush Hair task. Roommates were divided into 3 groups to compete in 4 stages of engagement activities, namely Stage 1: Step with Lush game, Stage 2: Find your piece Puzzle, Stage 3: Ring Toss and Stage 4: The Longest Braid Challenge and Presentation.
For the Longest Braid presentation, teams were challenged to design an outfit from scratch and weave the longest ponytail braid onto their rep, then present the rationale to the rest.
After 90 minutes of intense competition between the three teams – Team Reinah-Twist, Team Kinky-Royale and Team Wow-Braids, the winner of the N2 million grand prize went to Team Kinky Royale who got the most points and came out on top with – 36 feet, followed by Team Wow Braids – 34 feet, 9 inches, then Team Rehinah Twist – 12 feet, 3 inches. `
Earlier on the day of the task, the hashtag #FlauntYourLush was trending actively on Twitter, while on the street of Lagos giant mannequins were seen standing at different high traffic spots around Lagos to raise awareness of the Lush task. Hair/BBN scheduled to hold later in the evening. The next day, the same chain was also explored to encourage fans to join the brand the next day, at Ikeja City Mall to collectively surpass the effort of the winner of the longest BBN house braid challenge.
At Saturday’s experiential event, a beautiful, tall, dark-skinned model sat beautifully in the center of the booth, where fans took turns entering in droves to take part in the longest braiding activity ever. finally stopped at 100 feet / 2 inches.
The lush hair created a fun atmosphere and an unforgettable experience for the participant and the audience. Those who participated in the challenge as well as the winners of the games not only received goody bags, they also had the opportunity to enter their name into the Lush Hair Hall of Fame as a symbol of honor by participating in the longest braids challenge.
Music and games were available especially for those who couldn’t participate in the braiding challenge, no one was left out.
According to the brand manager, Lush Hair, Ms. Ritambhara Kakkar, to achieve this feat is quite incredible and we appreciate the fans who came out in droves to show their support and loyalty to the brand. As the official hair sponsor of Big Brother season 7, we felt that what better strategy could we adopt to bring our fans and other BBN enthusiasts into the fun and entertainment happening in the house, which gave birth to performing the longest braids challenge in and out of Big Brother’s house.
