Briton arrested for sexually assaulting female passenger sitting next to him on flight to Spain
A Briton has been arrested after touching an unknown woman sitting next to him on a Ryanair flight from Liverpool to Mallorca.
Shortly after the passenger complained about his lewd comments and behavior, cabin crew contacted police by radio from 35,000 feet in the air.
The victim, also British, told the crew that the man touched her breasts and asked her to have sex with him in the toilet.
Popular newspaper Ultima Hora said;
“The man started touching her shoulder and suddenly, after she pulled her hand away, he touched one of her breasts above her clothes.
“The woman said the gesture lasted a few seconds and shocked her.
“She asked the air crew for help and they advised the Civil Guard. The man was arrested as soon as he set foot at Palma airport.
He was detained when the plane landed at Palma airport late on Sunday September 25. The unnamed 35-year-old was reportedly fined £2,500 after being arraigned on Monday for a speedy trial.
A Civil Guard spokesman confirmed the arrest and the force is expected to issue a more detailed statement in the coming hours.
