Early life

Gyakie native Also, another city of Kumasi. She is the daughter of a Ghanaian music legend, Ernest Owoahene Nana Acheampong, who was a member of the popular group Lumba Brothers in Ghana. Gyakie has a passion for singing, so she joined the choir and became an active member of her church, where she was the lead singer.

Education

Gyakie completed her primary education in Kumasi, Ghana and she later completed her secondary education in TI Ahmadiyya. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Career

Gyakie began her musical career at the age of eight when she joined her father in the studio. She said she was influenced by Asa and Omar Sterling, a popular Ghanaian musician. In February 2019, she released her first singles, “Love is Pretty” and “Never Like This”. In August 2020, she released a five-track EP titled “Seed”, which made Billboard’s Top Thriller Global and Shazam Top 200 Charts.

Gyakie released a remix titled “Stillwith a popular Nigerian musician, Oma Layin March 2021, and this same month, she emerged as Woman of the Year and received the 3Music awards 2021 to the 3Music Woman branch 2021.

She signed an international recording contract with RCA Records United Kingdom, Sony Music Entertainmentand Sony Music Awards. She featured prominent artist Can Kdei on his single Mi Mu lineand other artists have worked with her, including Image and Be polite.

In July 2022, Gyakie released their second EP nicknamed “MY DAIRY“and featured a popular Nigerian musician”davido”
