Bandits kill a police inspector, burn his vehicle and kidnap several passengers in Katsina

Bandits killed a police inspector identified as Idris Musa in Makera neighborhoods in Kwakware community along the Katsina-Jibia road.

An eyewitness told Channels Television that the gunmen invaded the community around 7am on Monday September 26, firing sporadically as they chased a bus carrying passengers.

According to the source, the late inspector’s efforts to fend off the terrorist group proved futile.

After killing the officer, the bandits burned his vehicle and abducted an unknown number of passengers.

State Police Command spokesman SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the incident, said the officer was on his way to work when he was attacked and killed by the terrorists.

The PPRO added that an investigation is ongoing into the incident.
