Bandits abduct a man who went to pay a ransom of 2 million naira for the release of his wife and three children
Bandits abducted a man who went to pay the ransom of 2 million Naira for the release of his wife, son and two daughters who were abducted from Anguwar Janruwa in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.
Dailytrust reports that two weeks ago bandits invaded Anguwar Janruwa in Janjala community and abducted a housewife, Hauwa Abubakar, her son, Idris Abubakar and her two daughters, Ummi and Sadiya.
A relative of the victims, Audu Bajeko, said the man, Abubakar Ardo, brought the 2 million naira ransom to the bandits on Sunday but was also detained with his family in the criminals’ den. He said the bandits also detained the man because he failed to collect the 20 million naira ransom they demanded to free the man’s wife and children.
“It was around 5.30pm on Sunday when the leader of the bandits called to inform them that they had detained the man who had brought in 2 million naira to secure the release of his wife and children. When asked what the problem was, the bandit replied that the amount the man brought was not what he asked,’ he said.
Bajeko said the bandit leader insisted that the man and his family should not be released until the N18 million balance was paid. According to him, the relations of the victims were now in confusion as the bandit now has the whole family, adding that the relatives fought hard before they lifted the ransom of 2 million naira taken from them.
The Madaki of Janjala, Samaila Babangida, said the bandits’ activities had caused confusion throughout the community.
“Just two days ago the eldest wife of Ardo Fulani was killed after collecting 2 million naira from the family, again this morning we received reports that another man who went to get the release of his family was also detained after collecting 2 million naira from him,” he lamented
