All Progressives Congress national youth leader Dayo Israel has reacted after being called out for allegedly holding party positions with Yoruba youths.
Facebook user Abdullahi Sani, who shared a list showing members of APC’s Digital Media Committee, wrote;
50 of the 66 members of APC’s digital media committee are Yorubas.
Promise Emmanuel, a media aide to Kogi Deputy Governor Edward Onoja, also wrote;
I am shocked that Abdullahi O Haruna Haruspice and King Raji are not on the APC Digital Media Team list released by this APC National Youth Leader from Lagos.
The only thing I have to say is that he has met many in the party, he will not chase them away.
If anyone is complaining about Fulanization, the younger generation shouldn’t take us to Yorubanization season. That’s not what Asiwaju, who had produced people like Joe Ibokwe and others, represents.
A Pro-APC Facebook page, Buharist Reporters also wrote;
With this progressive Young Leaders Summit hosted by APC’s National Youth Leader, it is clear that it is regionally focused. Other regions are no longer important on projects.
Haha! 50 of the 66 members of the summit’s digital media committee are from a particular area. Some are not even members of our main party, the APC.
Reacting to the callout messages, Dayo wrote;
I have seen the various comments made around the list of digital commissions. Let me draw your attention to the finance committee list of 43 people including 19 northerners, or the accreditation committee of 23 people including 9 northerners. People tried to dwell on the social media committee made up of young social media influencers including Bashir Ahmad and Bashir ElRufai. The media committee is not based on states or region but on the influencing capabilities of social media and we have tried to allocate seats among our various upcoming programs. We will continue to support everyone.
In a list of 50 contact and mobilization committee, we have 31 northerners. Yet some say I am a Yoruba youth leader.
