Another PDP leader gunned down in Ebonyi

Suspected political thugs have killed a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) operative in Ebonyi State.

Oyibo Nwani, a gubernatorial and House of Assembly election officer, was shot dead by the thugs who stormed his polling station in Onicha Local Government Area on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

Onicha LGA is home to the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Chief Ifeanyi Odii.

According PUNCH report, the thugs would have come to seize the ballot boxes but the young people made frantic efforts to resist them.

In the ensuing melee, the PDP leader who was clutching a ballot box was shot in the head.

State Police Command spokesman SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the killing, said Nwani had been the victim of stray bullets during attacks by gunmen in the area.
