Air Peace suspends flight to Dubai over visa ban on Nigerians

Air Peace has suspended flights to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), due to the non-issuance of visas to Nigerians.

It comes weeks after UAE authorities imposed a visa ban on Nigerians.

Emirates, the United Arab Emirates carrier, had previously suspended flights to Nigeria, citing the inability to repatriate ticket funds as well as reduced passengers on the route.

Nigeria’s indigenous carrier, Air Peace, has now announced that it will suspend operations effective Tuesday, November 22, 2022, “until further notice”.

In a statement, Air Peace said: “This is due to the continued non-issuance of visas to Nigerian travelers by the UAE government and the inconvenience that comes with it.

“Air Peace has been operating in the United Arab Emirates even with the country’s recent travel restrictions, but given the increasing barriers Nigerian travelers face in accessing the country, it has become imperative that we halt our operations to this destination. We We will provide further updates as the situation progresses.

“Passengers whose flights are affected by this development can mail our call center to address their concerns.”
