Actor Jamie Foxx ‘calls police after being targeted for £33,000 in elaborate scam while filming Cameron Diaz comeback film Back In Action’
Actress Cameron Diaz’s comeback film is said to have come to a halt after co-star Jamie Foxx called the police to report a plot to rob her of £33,000.
Bosses of the big-budget Netflix film Back In Action have reportedly halted production as they conduct an investigation that has led to a staff member being fired.
It is claimed the police have been contacted over the incident as it is believed the same worker may be linked to other attempts to obtain large sums of money from top stars in the past.
A source told The Sun: “This movie has been a bit of a nightmare.
“There were a lot of delays, especially with the weather thanks to the outdoor filming in London in winter, but the last issue is a little more sinister.
“A member of staff has been sacked and investigations are ongoing after someone tried to access £33,000 in cash from Jamie Foxx.
“It looks like they tried to offer a Rolex watch as part of the deal, but now there’s an investigation into everything that’s going on.” People will be happy when this thing finally ends.
It comes after it emerged Cameron is unlikely to return to Hollywood for another film – after a friend revealed the star is struggling with long working days that tear her apart from husband Benji Madden and their three-year-old daughter, Radix.
She officially retired from her Hollywood career in 2018, before being lured by her close friend Jamie to star alongside him in the action comedy Back In Action.
But his comeback plans were turned upside down earlier this month when it was reported that Jamie “had an absolute meltdown” on the film’s UK set, which led to three people being fired.
Now a source close to the star has revealed that while she has no issues with Jamie, she is unlikely to return to the film world after completing the project because she found it so hard to be away from his family.
“These back-to-back 10 hour working days have cost her a lot and she hates being away from Raddix,” the pal told MailOnline exclusively, adding: “Cameron loves being a mum more than anything in the world.”
