Abandoned lover brutally murders his ex-girlfriend and stabs her 16 times outside his office in broad daylight
A 28-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 25-year-old ex-lover more than 16 times in public view outside his office in East Bengaluru, India on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Police identified the victim as Leela Pavithra Nalamati of Kakinada, AP. She was an employee of Omega Healthcare Management Services Private Limited in Murugeshpalya.
The accused, Dinakar Banala, from Srikakulam, Andhra, is also a health worker at a company in Domlur.
Jeevan Bhima Nagar police rushed to the scene and arrested Dinakar.
CP (East) Bheemashankar S Guled said the murder took place around 7.30pm outside the victim’s office.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that Dinakar and Leela fell in love five years ago and decided to get married. But the girl’s family was not ready for the marriage because the groom was from a different caste” , said the police officer.
“Leela then informed Dinakar that her family would not accept their marriage and that they should comply with this decision. This angered Dinakar who then stabbed Leela several times,” Guled said.
According to the police, Dinakar came to Leela’s office and waited outside. Once she got out, the duo got into an argument. Dinakar then pulled out a knife and stabbed her over 16 times in public view.
