A Nigerian man shares the ‘shocking’ response ‘bribe-seeking airport officials’ gave his aunt after she told them she had no money

A Nigerian man has shared the response airport officials looking for bribes allegedly gave to his aunt after she told them she had no money as she was traveling out from the country.

Posting his experience on his Twitter handle, the man wrote;

”My aunt was on a trip to London last week. At Lagos airport, she was told she had to remove Aboniki from her bag as it was contraband. She explained that she was cold and needed it for her nose. The idiots told her she had to fix them.

She replied that she had no money because she had shared it with all the workers who asked for money at the door up to this point. This is what they told her: “Madam, the money is in this bag. Na me scan am na. I see am.” What sort of crime is this? If your stuff goes missing, it’s intentional”
